PRAYERS for the Victims of December 14, 2012

As we embrace to our faith with prayer to heel our thoughts are with the souls needlessly and prematurely lost.  May God bless us all and give courage to the direct families suffering.

Reverenced Trees
By Elly Potamianos

When the fire falls and covers a plush green carpet with a burned flutter, the undisguised bare limbs surface to aid the smallest of creatures,

Extensions hover and linger ghoulishly through the impending wind, while the trunk unveils its’ apertures,

Such accommodating centered strength preserves and sustains prosthetic structures, while evasively intrudes and disassembles,

Yet the oxygen has cleared, the fruit, shade, flowers, spores, and cones will return,

An umbrella shade will reconstruct and the tallest earthly growth will continue to provide a stationary foundation that is now inextinguishable.

The Pleasant Countenance of the Moon
By Elly Potamianos

Within a glooming twilight a mitigated glow culminated through the bear branches where ordinarily it would be obscurely concealed,

No ring around such an idle silhouetted profile; no haze to blur the illuminating source,

Despite the vagueness it’s unusually warm and tranquil, enticing and inviting not to repose, but to mingle and become associatively united.

Perfect Clouds
By Elly Potamianos
Whipped cream surged sporadically upon a hue of velvet with a reflecting bright energy peaking, and cascading an amber tint,

Too early to sweat or be blinded, but just right to inhale and rejuvenate,

Entranced by a perfected powder blue and captured for you to view, now and forever this visual thought remains an imprint.

QUICK PRACTICE SKETCHES

The human form is the most adorned throughout history.  In the following virtual book are quick practice sketches done in college with live models, and not finished compositions.  Although, there are many ways of capturing a likeness and converting what we see from a 3D view to a 2D drawing, the following technique is a more precise method.

It is the impression (picture) and not the emotions and feelings associated that remain.

Art is expressed ultimately in a variety of mediums, compositions, and thoughts.  Not only visual thoughts, but also, from the core of the subconscious portrayed by many emotions such as fear, love, beauty, etc.

We all watched at a very young age the many cartoons that absorbed our attention.  I was mesmerized by the smooth and precise lines that indicated the characteristics of the caricature with simplicity, and emphasized with appeal.  In this flip book called “DRAWING CARTOONS & THE BEGINNING OF ART EXPRESSION,” are some illustrations.

Not only children are mesmerized by shadows, in this acrylic on paper painting “REFLECTIONS.” Finished for prints that can be found on Saatchi, it is said, “That one must suspect a still life with food that is finished.” In this case you cannot take this away from a European for too long.

Digital Art
Pansies have the most beautiful designs and colors from which an artist can learn.  They are so tiny filled with thoughts of love and kindness.

El Capitan at Yosemite National Park - Digital Art
I was inspired by the beautiful scenic look of this rock mountain that has so many interesting appearances.
